Cane Harvesters discovered the body of a man dumped in a sugar cane plantation in Inanda – KZN this morning (Tuesday).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for assistance from a Farmer at approximately 06:44. RUSA Members were immediately dispatched to the farm situated along Jabu Ngcobo Road.
On arrival, Reaction Officers drove approximately 150 metres into a breaker. The body of a man was found a few meters away concealed by sugar cane. His injuries indicated that he had been beaten and hacked with a panga. Rigor Mortis was present.
An orange tow rope was located under the deceased’s body. The man is believed to have been murdered elsewhere and thereafter dumped in the cane field.
The motive for the murder and the deceased’s identity has not been established….
