Vigilant Pinetown police arrested three suspects during an intelligence operation aimed at preventing the robbery that was allegedly planned at a business premises in New Germany near Pinetown. Police laid in watch and approached the suspects fitting the description provided.
Suspects attempted to flee but were immediately arrested. Police arrested three suspects aged between 24 and 25 and recovered two pistols with its serial numbers filed off as well as 18 live rounds of ammunition. Suspects were taken to Pinetown police station for detention and charged for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. Suspects are appearing at the Pinetown Magistrates’ Court on 14 July 2017.
