Three suspects aged between 23 and 40 are expected to appear before the Durban Magistrates Court on 10 March 2021.

On 9 March 2021, at 04:05, Durban Central police officers were patrolling the CBD when they received a report of burglary at a business premises. They proceeded to Alice Street where a suspect was spotted fleeing the scene upon arrival of the police officers. Police immediately apprehended the suspect.

The second suspect who fled the scene prior to police’s arrival was pointed out and he was pursued.

Both men were found in possession of a bolt cutter and a pik. They were arrested for being in possession of house breaking implements and burglary.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner for KwaZulu-Natal, Major General Thulani Gonya welcomed the arrest of the burglars.
