A female pedestrian was injured after she was run over by a bus at the Fairbreeze intersection on Monday morning 5 November 2018.

At approximately 07:17 members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene by other pedestrians and passing motorists requesting assistance for the injured woman. Upon arrival paramedics from a private ambulance service were in the process of treating the woman who was bleeding excessively from lacerations she had sustained to her head and face.

The pedestrian was then transported to hospital in a stable condition.

It is alleged that the driver of the bus veered off the road and struck the woman who is employed at the Umhlali SAPS while she was waiting to be picked up by her lift club. Witnesses claim that the driver of the bus disobeyed a red robot however this is yet to be verified.

The occupants of the bus were not injured in the accident.
