Several buildings on Todd Street in the Verulam CBD have been evacuated following a bomb threat this morning, 20 June 2018.

At approximately 08:34 the RUSA Operations Centre received a call from a man who spoke in an Indian accent claiming that an explosive device was placed at Shenaaz Centre. He informed the controller on duty that the bomb would be detonated at 09:30. He then ended the call.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene and upon arrival evacuated residents from several high rise buildings as well as businesses in the vicinity.
