KZNVIP Control Centre swiftly responded to a reported hijacking incident on Newcentre Drive, Newlands West, after receiving critical information via social media on the evening of 1 August 2025.
According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 7pm when the homeowner and family members were entering their property. Six unidentified males, all clad in black clothing and armed with firearms, approached the residence on foot. The assailants forcibly removed the occupants from their vehicle at gunpoint, demanding valuables before fleeing the scene in a white Hyundai i20.
KZNVIP Response and Tactical Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene and made contact with the victims. Authorities have since launched an intensive search for the suspects and the getaway vehicle.
