Bonela resident survives armed-gang home invasion

A Bonela woman survived an armed-gang home invasion unharmed on 4 February 2019 after armed robbers stormed into her property in broad daylight.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said the resident heard a noise in the driveway of her Neptune Crescent home at around 10am and peered out of the kitchen door to see what was happening.

“She saw a grey Toyota Fortuner drive onto her property. She locked the kitchen door and then went into the lounge to see if she could recognise the vehicle that had just driven onto the property,” Mathios said.

“While she was still in the lounge the armed-gang forced open a security gate and door in the lounge and held her up at gunpoint. The suspects fled with televisions, cellphones and jewellery and they also took the resident’s house alarm remote panic buttons,” Mathios said.

Cato Manor SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
