WESTBROOK — Earlier today, the body of an adult male was recovered off Casuarina Beach in Westbrook following a coordinated ocean search.
The operation was initiated after IPSS Search and Rescue received reports of a body floating in the ocean near the Westbrook coastline. To assist in the search efforts, an IPSS volunteer piloted a drone over the water, successfully spotting the remains just off the Casuarina shore.
Following the aerial confirmation, IPSS team members on the scene retrieved the body from the water. The recovery was completed on-site, and the remains have since been officially handed over to the Tongaat South African Police Service (SAPS) for further processing and investigation.
