Barbed wire fences no match for brazen criminals

Business and homeowners, who have barbed wire fences on their properties, are urged to take note that suspects are entering premises despite these security measures and are able to continue with their criminal agendas undeterred.

A resident reported that a suspect fastened a belt from the barbed wire to the gate bars and was able to enter and leave through the gap created.

Suspects have also managed to slip under razor wire by sliding onto their abdomens or backs in an attempt to gain access into a property.

A company in Isipingo has been hit several times in recent weeks as suspects, believed to be whoonga addicts, have found several ways to enter and exit the property including climbing barefoot over the razor wire and jumping on nearby roofs as a means of escape.

Suspects are brazen and are even breaking into properties whilst employees are on site. They use various odds and ends to aid them in their schemes and even stacked broken tiles as stepping posts.

Community members are urged to be alert and call their security service providers or the police at the first sign of possible intruders.

Alpha Alarms also advises that items left lying around are cleared up from plain sight of suspects who are often tempted to break in when they spot an opportunity to make easy money by stealing and selling goods for quick cash.
