At approximately 11:08 on 6 July 2018, members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to Cassia Road in Lotusville, Verulam after receiving reports of an armed robbery.

Upon arrival of Reaction Officers it was established that two armed suspects had accosted the victims who were seated in their bakkie on a construction site. The armed men wore balaclavas to disguise their identity. The suspects robbed the victims of a large undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing in an awaiting champagne coloured VW Polo with registration ND 407….

It is alleged and not confirmed that the victims may have been followed from a bank on Wick Street in the Verulam CBD after they had withdrawn the money to pay wages to their staff. No one was injured during the robbery.

A search was conducted for the suspects however no arrests were made.
