Bail application of 2 teenage farm murder suspects postponed
Man killed, wife brutally attacked on farm near Tzaneen

Two 18-year-old suspects accused of the murder of a farmer at his Midlands home last week, will formally apply for bail on July 18, KwaZulu-Natal police said in a statement.

The pair appeared in the Greytown Magistrate’s Court on Monday where they face charges of murder and armed robbery.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said the body of 49-year-old Sarel David Theron was discovered at his house on Tuesday morning after he failed to turn up for work on Monday.

His body was discovered by one of the farm managers. He had sustained a number of stab wounds and police believe he was also strangled.

Zwane said a laptop, cellphone and other goods taken from the house were found in the possession of the two suspects.
