A farmer, Jarnu Knoetze, was on route to his farm vleiplaats, near Vryheid, in the KwaZulu Natal province of South Africa. He was travelling along a small farm road that leads to his farm when an unknown number of attackers opened fire on him. Both side windows of his vehicle were shot out.
Knoetze, who was not injured, stopped, fired six warning shots and took cover in the bush away from his vehicle and called for assistance.
Local farmers, security companies and police responded and closed off the area but there were no arrests. There is no other information available at this stage.
