Operations conducted by the Ethekwini Inner North Cluster yielded positive results when they arrested three suspects. On 11 October 2019 at 20:30, the police officers were performing crime prevention duties on Chakide Road in Richmond Farm when they spotted a vehicle being driven without registration plates.

The vehicle was intercepted and a search was conducted. A tablet, cellphone, TV set, laptop and a firearm was seized from the arrested suspects. The suspects aged between 25 and 30 were placed under arrest. They were also linked to a house robbery that occurred at Seaview earlier this month.

The stolen property was positively identified by the lawful owner. The arrested suspects are due to appear in the Ntuzuma Magistrates Court soon facing charges for being in possession of suspected stolen property and unlawful possession of a firearm.

It is alleged on 9 October 2019 at 13:00, that the men entered a house in Seaview and held up two women inside the house. At gunpoint they were robbed of a laptop, cellphone, TV set, microwave oven, a firearm and clothing. The suspects fled the scene in their getaway vehicle. A case of robbery is being investigated by Bellair SAPS.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula thanked the police officers for their vigilance which resulted in preventing these thugs from committing further crimes.
