Armed Robbery on Mosque Property, Verulam, KwaZulu Natal. At approximately 10:30am members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the home of a moulana on Wick Street in the Verulam CBD after receiving reports of an armed robbery.
Upon arrival Reaction Officers were informed that three armed suspects gained entry into the home, which is situated on the mosque property and held up three woman. While one suspect ransacked the home in search of valuables his accomplices watched over the victims which included an 82 year old woman.
The suspects then stole an undisclosed amount of cash and electronic equipment before fleeing the residence. Witnesses reported seeing the armed men driving off in a silver Renault Clio.
The victims were not injured during the robbery.
