At least six stores, selling jewellery, watches, cellphones or electronic goods, have been robbed in the metro area in the last couple of weeks. Armed with hammers and crowbars, a gang has targeted various stores throughout the province.
This gang was caught on camera smashing the display windows of a store in the Chatsworth Centre, grabbing designer jewellery and fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of loot.
It’s widely believed a syndicate is at work, nicknamed the “hammer gang”.
