Police officers from KwaNdengezi SAPS were conducting duties at the Community Service Centre when a man arrived and reported to police that he was robbed of his laptop at gunpoint by an unknown man along the road. He provided police with a description of the suspect and the police officers immediately responded.
Whilst searching the area the suspect was spotted walking along Tom Road. He was approached and upon searching him an unlicensed firearm and ammunition was found in his possession. The suspect directed police to a house where the complainant’s laptop was recovered.
A 25 year old suspect was placed under arrest. He is expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrates Court facing charges of possession of unlicensed firearm, ammunition as well as armed robbery.
