A gang of armed robbers held up and assaulted a security guard at a business premises in Pinetown in the early hours of this morning.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said several suspects had arrived at the business premises in Kings Road in two vehicles – an Audi and a Renault – at around 4.30am.
“The gang forced their way into the business premises and held up security guards at gunpoint, assaulting one of the guards, in the process,” Mathios said. “It is unclear at this stage what was stolen from the business.”
Mathios said ER24 paramedics attended the scene although it appeared that the guard had not sustained any visible injuries.
Pinetown SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
In a separate Pinetown incident, a knifeman was tracked down and arrested after an attempted mugging incident earlier this week.
