Another Glebelands hostel shooter nabbed, Bayhead

In the early hours of the morning yesterday, 22 May 2018, members of the National Intervention Unit deployed at Glebelands Hostel conducted an intelligence driven operation at Maydon Wharf and Bay Head with regards to a suspect wanted for a shooting incident at the Glebelands Hostel.

A 38 year old suspect was arrested for attempted murder at Bayhead.

It is alleged on 31 August 2017 at 20:45, a 45 year old man was at Block P in the Glebelands Hostel when he was allegedly shot by a known suspect. He sustained gunshots wounds to the head, shoulder and abdomen. The victim managed to seek assistance after the shooting and police officers that were in the vicinity responded to the incident. The victim was taken to hospital for medical attention.

The suspect fled the scene and has been on the run since then. The team of dedicated police officials made a break through when they arrested him whilst he was at his place of employment in Bayhead. He will appear at the Umlazi Magistrates Court tomorrow on a charge of attempted murder.
