A crime intelligence driven operation was conducted by Amangwe SAPS on 8 January 2020. The aim of the operation was to minimise the theft of stock in the Amangwe policing precinct and apprehend those involved. The operation was conducted at Nyezane area where two suspects aged 23 and 25 were found in possession of two stolen stock.

They were then placed under arrest for possession of a stolen stock. They appeared on 10 January 2020, in the Estcourt Magistrates’ Court.

In another operation at Brush area in KwaCeza, a total of nine stolen cattle were recovered. The suspect managed to flee to the nearby bushes and is still being sought by police.

The recovered stock were stolen at Mountain View Mission in Engome on 16 January 2018 whilst at the grazing veld. A case of stock theft was opened at Ngome SAPS.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula applauded the police officers for the recovery of the stolen livestock and arrest of the suspects.
