The Durban Metro Police Drug Team, working jointly with Trio Crimes (SOD1) and various specialised SAPS units, conducted an intelligence-driven operation in the Bluff area on 14 October 2025.
Following careful observation, officers tactically approached the targeted premises and successfully apprehended a suspect linked to major cocaine distribution in the southern region of eThekwini.
During the operation, law enforcement recovered:
3 x 1kg bricks of pure cocaine
1 x firearm (Glock 22) with 45 live rounds and 3 magazines
2 x cellphones
186 x empty 40-caliber casings
1 x passport and identification documents
Estimated street value: R1.2 million
The suspect faces multiple charges including Dealing and Possession of Cocaine and Failure to Safeguard a Firearm.
This successful operation demonstrates the ongoing collaboration between Metro Police and SAPS specialised units in dismantling organised drug networks within eThekwini.
