March has been a month of firsts for all of us – new challenges, learning curves and even a few victories – in and amongst all the chaos. Our monthly stats revealed a few new crime trends that residents need to be aware of.
In our latest lockdown crime trends report, we looked at the stats during the first few days of lockdown and noticed a shift in criminal activity. Despite the initial decrease in crime, during the first few days, criminals continue to run amok.
During the month of March we saw an overall increase in incidents reported to our control centre. We saw a spike in the number of incidents on the 26th March (the last day before lockdown) and an increase in business break-ins, which was to be expected given that most businesses were closed.
