KwaZulu-Natal: At 17H19 Wednesday late afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in Broadway, Durban North.
Reports from the scene alledge that a 70-year-old female had just arrived home when she was accosted by three men wielding a gun.
The woman had been assaulted and in the process a firearm was discharged, fortunately the woman did not sustain an injury from the gun being fired.
It is believed the patient was robbed of all her belongings before the suspects had fled.
The elderly lady was treated on scene for a head wound and was transported by Netcare 911 ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
Durban North SAPS was on scene and will be investigating.
