Seven Year Old Drowns on Construction Site: Verulam – KwaZulu Natal
At approximately 12:37 members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene after receiving several calls from the public regarding the drowning. Upon arrival it was established that the victim and a friend were swimming in a large body of water which accumulated over a period of time at the construction site.
Both boys were swimming in the shallow end when the victim decided to veer further in. According to his friend he noticed the victim struggling to stay afloat before going under water. He then ran to to a nearby shopping were he sought assistance.
The Ethekwini Fire and Rescue arrived on scene a short while later and a diver enter the water. The victims naked, lifeless body was then recovered.
