In the early hours of 21 May 2020, Pinetown detectives conducted an operation, searching for robbery suspects. Four males aged between 17 and 24 were arrested at Clermont.
On 9 May 2020, a 58-year-old male was allegedly accosted by five males in his home on Circle Drive in Wyebank who robbed him of cellphones, cash and car keys at knife point. They fled the scene on foot.
A case of house robbery was opened at Pinetown police station for investigation. An extensive police investigation was conducted which led to the arrest of a 30-year-old suspect two days after the robbery. He was charged and he appeared in the Pinetown Magistrates Court on 15 May 2020.
The suspect was also linked to a case of theft out of motor vehicle which occurred two days prior the robbery where two batteries, car radio and bank cards were stolen.
