Members of Reaction Unit South Africa are currently searching for a dark blue late mode Izuzu double cab bakkie and three male occupants who have kidnapped three scholars in Woodview, Phoenix in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday 7 July 2020, at 15:14.
The RUSA Operations Center in Phoenix received a call for assistance for residents on Cilla Grove Cr. in Woodview at approx 15:19 seeking immediate assistance after a thirteen year boy old ran to their homes and explained that three of his friends were kidnapped.
Reaction Officers arrived on scene and interviewed the child. He informed Officers that whilst walking near Woodview Park, a bakkie stopped and the occupants made enquiries regarding a location where sugarcane could be purchased. When the boys approached the vehicle, three occupants attempted to grab four of the kids. One managed to escape.
According to the child, the victims all reside in Amouti and attend school at Amouti and Brookdale Primary. A criminal case was not immediately opened as there are no other witnesses to the kidnapping. The child has been handed over to the South African Police Services at Phoenix.
Reaction Officers are currently searching for the sought after vehicle while an investigation is being conducted to confirm the version of events.
