The operations in the fight against stock theft in the KZN province are still on-going. This was followed by a multidisciplinary operation that was conducted on 31 May 2021, at Utrecht by the Zululand and Amajuba Stock Theft Task Team.
The team was following up information regarding the cattle that were stolen at a farm in Utrecht. At total of 24 stolen cattle were found at the suspect’s homes in Utrecht.
The stolen cattle were positively identified by the lawful owner.
It is alleged that the cattle were stolen earlier this year on different occasions at a farm in Utrecht. Five suspects aged between 31 and 44 were placed under arrest for stock theft after they were found in possession of stolen cattle.
The suspects will appear before the Utrecht Magistrates’ Court.
