Two suspects aged 16 and 17 will appear before the Chatsworth Magistrates Court on Monday, 6 September 2021 on charges of arson.
It is alleged that on 4 September 2021, the owner of a property in the Shallcross area had left to visit a family member for the weekend. The following day the owner was informed that her house had caught alight. Upon arrival she discovered that part of her property was burnt and household property stolen.
Police investigations continued with the arrest of the two suspects.
The Station Commander, Brigadier Kevin James commends the police officers for the arrest of the alleged perpetrators. Crimes against women and children will be viewed in a serious nature ensuring that perpetrators are apprehended and placed before the criminal justice system
