The Ntuzuma Regional Court has on Wednesday, 18 January 2023 sentenced Jabulani Lethukuthula Nsibande (22) and Siphesihle Khathi (24) to a life imprisonment and an additional 15 years after finding them guilty for the murder which they committed in KwaMashu two years ago.

The sentence was as a result of a sterling investigation conducted by Detective Sergeant Sabelo Kubisa who connected the dots to place the two convicts at the scene of crime.

Thulani Raphael Mkhize, who was 41 years old at the time, was walking along Linda Nzama Road, next to Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu in the morning of 5 June 2020, when he was accosted by Nsibande and Khathi who were armed with knives.

The duo stabbed him multiple times and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

These convicted murderers also robbed him of his laptop, cellphone and a wallet with an undisclosed amount of money.

The Investigating Officer succeeded in convincing the courts to reject their several bids for bail until the day they were condemned to jail for the rest of their lives.
