Two people have been killed and five others including SAPS members have been injured after a high speed chase which resulted in an accident and a shooting on the N2 South Bound near Nandi Drive on Friday.
Just after 11:30am on 4 August 2017, Rescue Care Paramedics responded to the call. On their arrival they found the entire N2 blocked on the South bound carriageway.
Three badly damaged vehicles were found strewn across the highway. One lady was severely entrapped in the wreckage and the Durban Fire Department had to use the Jaws of Life to free her whilst Advanced Life Support Paramedics stabilised her in the vehicle.
A further four people had sustained various injuries as a result of gun shot wounds and as a result of the accident.
All of the injured were stabilised on the scene before being transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.
At this stage the events leading up to this scene are unknown however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further
