The Ixopo Regional Court sentenced Qiniso Mkhize (43) to 15 years imprisonment for raping a 22 year old woman.
On 16 April 2016 at about 15:00, the victim was at her tuck shop at Plain Hill area when the accused came to buy cigarettes and he then followed the victim to her room where he raped her.
The incident was reported at Ixopo police and the docket was transferred to Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Units for further investigation.
After intensive investigation, the accused was arrested and made several court appearances until his sentencing.
