The J9 Foundation confirmed this morning that Joost van der Westhuizen was taken to hospital.
The former Springbok captain has been fighting Motor Neurone Disease (MND) since 2011.
Joost’s brother and sister, Peter and Marijke van der Westhuizen requested people to pray for him on their personal Facebook pages.
Their post confirmed that Joost is in hospital and they requested that people show respect for their family during this difficult time. They did say that they would post updates as soon as they have more information about his condition.
