The left-wing investigator and writer of the book, The President’s Keepers, Jacques Pauw, is currently preparing his legal representatives to file a possible bail application in the event of being arrested.
The State Security Agency filed criminal charges against Pauw at the police, while the Hawks are also investigating whether Pauw should be prosecuted.
Observers point out that the complaint against Pauw under the Intelligence Act essentially means that his facts in the book are indeed correct.
At the launch of his book in Pretoria, Pauw said South Africa was about to become a Mafia state. In his new book, he reveals allegations of ties between President Jacob Zuma and organized crime.
Zuma has only reacted by saying that the country has more problems than just books.
