The chairperson of the Independent Communications Authority of SA (ICASA) was convicted of fraud of more than R6 million and money laundering.

Rubben Mohlaloga was appointed as ICASA’s chairman in December 2017. He was appointed despite allegations of fraud against him and he was the former head of the ANC Youth League and was an ANC MP.

The portfolio committee of communication has announced that he has five days to explain why he should not be removed from his post, apparently it believes in respect for law.
