The former head of the SABC, Hlaudi Motsoeneg, was found guilty during an internal disciplinary hearing of the state broadcaster.
According to the acting chairman of the SABC, Motsoeneng’s status of “suspended” has now changed to “fired.” The main complaint was that he hurt his employer’s image during a media conference he held in April.
It is not yet certain whether Motsoeneng will attempt to appeal the finding.
Earlier, the Western Cape High Court declared his appointment irregular and irrational and afterward his leave to appeal was rejected. The Labor Court also dismissed his appeal.
