The High Court in Pretoria ordered Brian Molefe, Eskom’s former and highly controversial chief executive officer, to pay back all the money he received from Eskom’s pension fund.

His severance package and “early retirement agreement” were illegal and should be set aside.

More salt was rubbed into the wounds as the court also ordered Molefe to pay the court costs of both parties.

He is so arrogant by acknowledging that he was not entitled to the payment but faulted in his thinking that the regulations could be relaxed for his early retirement claim.

He has to now pay about R11 million in a short period of time.

The question now is whether the South African Revenue Service, who has already deducted the tax, is now also going reimbursed to the Eskom pension fund?
