The ANC Youth League was declared bankrupt in the Johannesburg High Court. This follows after the league could not pay their legal costs accounts.
In court it turned out that the league has a habit of not paying their bills.
The ANC will probably throw a lifeline to keep the institution going. However, it will not nullify the bankruptcy ruling and a new entity for the ANC youth will probably have to be established.
In this case, the debt still dates from the time when Julius Malema and his troops were still in charge of the ANC Youth League.
