The Institute for Security Studies said in a statement, the Hawks claim that there is a plot to kill 19 politicians and businessmen is absurd.
This follows after a 23-year-old Midrand man was arrested for approaching businessmen with the aim of financing more than R140 million to carry out the plot. According to the Hawks, he was preparing to get the beneficiaries of the ‘state capture’ assassinated by a sniper.
Gareth Newham of the ISS said in a statement that it was rather a mockery by Zuma supporters to get sympathy for the president. The suspect will appear in court today on charges of conspiracy to commit murder.
