The Payments Association of SA (PASA) has advised consumers to check their bank accounts regularly. Criminal elements set debit order deductions on clients’ accounts, and in most cases the amounts are less than R100.

Banks only notify clients when amounts over R100 are recovered from their accounts.

Hacking crimes are increasingly occurring and hackers are making millions of such schemes and usually start during the holidays there when everyone is relaxed and in holiday spirit.
