In the ongoing Gupta saga, it became apparent that the controversial Gupta brothers approached several law firms in South Africa for advice on how to transfer billions of funds from SA to the United Arab Emirates.
Two of the firms refused to get involved in the inquiry of the Gupta family.
The plan is apparently to obtain a residence permit in the Emirates and then transfer the money which would mean “tax discounts” under a bilateral agreement between SA and Emirates.
