Wierdabrug home robbery and hijacking, 4 suspects arrested

Four suspects aged between 24 and 48 were arrested by the Tshwane Flying Squad at Van Der Hoff Road, Mahem in Hercules on Thursday, 11 October 2018 at about 15:00.

The Flying Squad unit received information that there is a hijacked car chased behind by the Tracker SA and they joined in the chase until along Van Der Hoff road at Mahem in Hercules whereby the suspects were pulled over and arrested.

A blue VW Polo STI, suspected to be hijacked during the house robbery committed in Wierdabrug and a brown Datsun GO sedan, suspected to be stolen in Brixton during September 2018, were recovered with stolen goods from a house robbery. An unlicensed firearm with ammunition was also recovered.

The following charges are opened for further investigations. Possession of hijacked vehicle, possession of stolen motor vehicle, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunitions, Possession of suspected stolen properties from a house robbery.

Investigation continues. They will appear in Pretoria magistrate’s court soon.

The Tshwane West Cluster Commander, Major General Tommy Mthombeni applauded the members for their swift response in effecting arrest.
