The ‘Loving Life SA food drive’ into the Gauteng white squatter camps is gaining momentum. The project is aimed at supporting the impoverished minority South Africans in these camps. Most of the people who are in these camps are unable to find work, feed themselves or their families. And now with winter on hand the crisis is for these people is escalating with many of them having been retrenched, unable to find work as a result of BBBEE and forced out of their homes. Life has become a daily struggle just to survive. There is nowhere that they can turn to for help and many are forgotten…
South African farmers, who themselves are struggling, Loving Life, Farmers aid and volunteers have opened their hands and hearts this winter, a massive amount of food donations have already been received and as is now well over 15 tons of food, including maize meal, potatoes, bananas, macadamia nuts, carrots and other fresh produce. Also school supplies, much needed bedding, winter clothing and shoes have been donated.
The items have been donated from various provinces in the country.
There is hope when people stand together. Please try and help, get involved by donating items or offering your time to assist in this amazing project. And as a dedication to our fallen farmers and their families let us all make them proud and stand together. The drive will take place from 5 to 7 July 2019.
Loving Life channel will also be having a livestream that will run from about 08:30 for 5 plus hours on 6 and 7 July 2019, covering the food, clothing, donations, the packing of food and then the deliveries into these white squatter camps. There will be a shorter evening cross on 5 July 2019 starting at about 20:00 Friday night so people on the channel can meet those involved in the event.
