Some employees of ‘Volkshulp 2000’, a non profit organisation assisting families in need, reside in Danville, Pretoria West. On Monday 25 March 2019, during the afternoon, one of the ladies working at Volkshulp 2000 was on her way home and after she got off the public bus in Danville, she was attacked by a black terrorist. She resisted during the assault as he tried to rape her. The attacker then fled with her handbag into nearby bushes.

On Monday, 1 April 2019, another lady, also employed at Volkshulp 2000, was attacked by the same terrorist, assaulted and seriously injured while she was at the bus stop that morning. She also resisted her and he left her and fled.

Both of these ladies do not have their own transport and are therefore dependent on public transport which is not always on time. During a conversation with the manager of Volkshulp 2000 it came to light that they would like to get their own van to transport the staff to and from their work. However, this is not possible due to a shortage of funds.

The question was asked if the management and editors of Die Vryburger knew if there was bus available that is not in use, and which can be donated to Volkshulp for the purpose of transporting staff.

In order to offer assistance, the manager of Volkshulp 2000, Corrie du Plessis, can be contacted by phone 0826827454.
