At approximately 17h00 yesterday, Fox Security received information from Vumacam regarding a cloned vehicle operating in the Verwoerdpark, Alberton area. The vehicle was wanted in connection with a theft out of motor vehicle incident earlier in the day.
Our Tactical Units immediately responded and began searching the area. The vehicle was located and followed along 2nd Avenue, where the suspects realised they were being tailed leading to a high-speed chase.
The pursuit continued from Verwoerdpark onto the N3 through Cleveland and Bedfordview. With the valued assistance of JMPD TRU members, the vehicle was successfully brought to a stop in Essexwold, next to Edenvale.
Two suspects were apprehended and found in possession of signal jamming devices and vehicle-breaking implements. Further investigation confirmed the vehicle had false number plates and was positively linked to other criminal cases across Gauteng.
