Police Minister Bheki Cele has responded to an outcry by students from Tshwane University of Technology in Soshanguve.

Police Minister Bheki Cele will on Friday 11 May 2018, host a social crime prevention Imbizo at the Tshwane University of Technology Soshanguve South Campus. This follows an invitation by the students who raised serious complaints with the Minister about crime incidents that have turned the campus into a mini war zone with multiple cases of women abuse on the rise.

The hosting of the Imbizo is in line with the Minister’s pre budget vote activities, which is aimed at intensifying the fight against women and child abuse under the theme “TAKING A FIRM STAND FOR THE SAFETY OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN”.

The scourge of women abuse is at its highest peak in the country, hence the Minister’s dedicated focus in ensuring that such crimes are brought to its knees.

Minister is expected to engage with the students on matters that are affecting the campus life and further introduce intervention measures that will arrest all forms of crimes in campus and in the surrounding areas.
