Johannesburg Central Police detectives apprehended a 35-year-old male for hijacking and kidnapping on 23 March 2021 at 15:00.

It is alleged that suspect with his accomplices hijacked a 56-year-old male driving a company vehicle at Wemmer Pan on 3 November 2020, at 10:00.

They blindfolded him with his face mask and took him to a Quantum where he was forced to lie down. The company vehicle was carrying vehicles parts worth R500 000-00.

The suspects offloaded the parts at George Goch. The hijacked vehicle was recovered through the help of the residents of the hostel who informed the police. They managed to take the registration of the suspects’ getaway vehicle and it was circulated. The suspects were traced and arrested.

An investigation is underway and the suspect are appearing in the Johannesburg Magistrate Court on 24 March 2021.
