The SAPS Gauteng Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General Mary Motsepe is confident that nine prisoners who escaped at the Johannesburg Correctional Services will be brought to book very soon following the arrest of two warders on charges of assisting the prisoners to escape.
The warders are due to appear at the Johannesburg Magistrate Court on Friday 20 April 2018.
The escapees are considered to be dangerous and members of the public who know their whereabouts are warned not to confront them, but to contact the nearest police station or Crime Stop at 08600 10111 at all hours. Any information that may lead to the arrest of the prisoners may be rewarded.
