Two state attorneys and a financial clerk from the Department of Justice were arrested by the Hawks’ Anti-Corruption Unit for soliciting bribes of more than R50 000-00 from interpreters for a period of three years.
The suspects allegedly allocated work to interpreters for an exchange of payment. The trio allegedly facilitated the services of interpreters by referring unsuspecting clients to them for a fee. The clerk would facilitate the payments to the interpreters’ account that in turn they would be ordered to redirect the payments to their account.
The suspects will appear before the Pretoria Specialized Commercial Crime Court on Thursday for corruption and extortion. Anyone who fell victim to alleged suspects can contact Captain Warmberg on 072 580 2469.
Who has control of the judicial system in South Africa? The Courts are a pitiful mess. With the high crime rate and corruption happening, the courts in South Africa do not instill confidence, when Judges, attorneys and advocates are implicated in these matters.
South Africa has become a backwater infested with large groups of thieves and criminals. These criminals and thieves are employed in the State structures and have cloaked themselves in the Law, whereby they abuse the legal system in order to steal on a magnitude seldom ever heard.
