On 8 August 2017, at about 23:30, SAPS members from Provincial Gauteng Trio Task Team arrested two male suspects at Terenure Estate, Bergrivier drive for the possession of hijacked motor vehicle, unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The members were contacted by members from a tracking company about the recovered car reported hijacked in Mamelodi East, this month.

Upon members searching the recovered motor vehicles white Range Rover and suspicious blue VW Polo suspected to be used in the commission of crime, they recovered one 9mm pistol with 13 live rounds ammunition, police uniform, police reflector jackets, police blue light, microphone police car radio, police siren, four cellphones and some hand gloves.

The two cars were impounded for further investigation to determine if suspects are not linked to other criminal activities around Gauteng province or the other surrounding provinces.

The suspects, aged 25 and 30, will appear in Kempton Park Magistrate Court soon, Facing charges of possession of hijacked motor vehicle, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition and impersonating police officers.
