Two suspects are set to appear before the local magistrate’s court following their arrest during an integrated Economic Infrastructure operation conducted in the Bramley policing precinct on 11 June 2025.
The operation, a collaborative effort between the South African Police Service (SAPS), the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA), Gauteng Traffic Wardens, City Power, and private security companies, aimed to combat economic infrastructure-related crimes in the area.
Authorities confirmed that the two suspects were apprehended for possession of suspected stolen copper cables. The arrests form part of ongoing efforts to curb the theft and vandalism of critical infrastructure, which disrupts essential services and incurs significant costs for repairs and replacements.
