A Tshwane Metropolitan officer, Constable Malesela Danny Mokoka (34), has been summoned to appear before the court on charges of alleged corruption.

A complaint was received from a senior manager at the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) under the National Traffic Anti-Corruption Unit about complaints the unit has received from the public regarding the number of law enforcement officers within the Tshwane, Ekurhuleni and Johannesburg Metropolitan Departments who demand enticement from motorists who violate the rules of the road.

The matter was reported to the Germiston based Serious Corruption Investigation and an investigation began which led to the suspect being summoned on 08 February 2024. The suspect is expected to appear before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on 11 March 2024.
